Islamism hits the supermarket

The Stop Kuffarphobia Demonstration London 26th October is to protest against the kind of behaviour and ruling described in this article in the Times Muslim checkout staff get an alcohol opt-out clause. We don't want this kind of thing in Europe.

Daniel Foggo and Christopher Thompson write

MUSLIM supermarket checkout staff who refuse to sell alcohol are being allowed to opt out of handling customers’ bottles and cans of drink.

Islamic workers at Sainsbury’s who object to alcohol on religious grounds are told to raise their hands when encountering any drink at their till so that a colleague can temporarily take their place or scan items for them.

Other staff have refused to work stacking shelves with wine, beer and spirits and have been found alternative roles in the company.

How do we as consumers show that we disaprove of this policy by Sainsbury, that is the question.

Some suggestions

1. Leave a note in the suggestion box - with a mild reminder that this sort of thing is harmful to the well being of the nation, and shopping at Sainsbury is not mandatory.

2. If a Muslim checkout (Oh I do so hope that Muslims will checkout of Britain), holds up his hands because your shopping basket has alcohol, sausages, bacon and other such "disgusting" items, make your disaproval known in the strongest terms, by stating that it is inadmissable that any employee of Sainsbury should find your taste in food or drink, unacceptable, and that the behaviour of the employee is intolerant and insulting.

3. Walk out, leaving the items on the conveyor.

4. Do all three.

Any more?

Indeed boycott Sainsbury, but still would be worthwile making a point of it at the checkout.

Spread the message to all about Sainsbury sleeping with the enemy.

What exactly is Islamist about obtaining an opt-out due to personal conviction?

Im definitely BOYCOTTING sainsburys and have written to tell them so!

I have also written to the other supermarket chains about this situation and hopefully PREVENT them from going down the same road if they want our custom!

dp111 your idea of taking a stance at the checkout is a great way to HIGHLIGHT the issue, but Id only do it if I were guaranteed to be served by an islamic employee who has issues so I could SHOW my Utter Contempt by WALKING OUT! ;0)
