Immediate Release: 4 September 2007 Public meeting about Olympics Mega-Mosque follows massive 10 Downing Street petition
Supporters and opponents to meet in "hard-hitting but civilised" East London debate that discredits Ken Livingstone BNP slur
For the first time supporters and opponents of the proposed Olympics mega-mosque at West Ham will meet to air their differences and debate the key issues, at a public meeting this Friday evening (7 September) at Stratford, East London.
Following the recent huge petition against the mosque which attracted over 250,000 signatures on the 10 Downing Street website, the atmosphere is expected to be electric as both sides put forward their arguments head-to-head in front of the audience.
Support for the mosque will be led by Abdul Khaliq Mian, who is a former mega-mosque project manager and spokesman and also a former parliamentary candidate (East Ham, 2005) and local council candidate (Newham 2006) for George Galloway's Respect party.
Leading for the opponents will be Councillor Alan Craig, leader of the Christian Peoples Alliance group on Newham Council.
The debate is being organised by Newham Muslim voluntary sector group Islamic Circles and is open to the public.
"I'm delighted we are to debate the mega-mosque issue face-to-face at last," said Cllr Craig, who has been the leading East London opponent of the project. "I first asked for discussions with mosque promoters Tablighi Jamaat over a year ago but they have always refused to meet.
This is the first real opportunity to do democracy, and I expect the debate to be hard-hitting but civilised." Cllr Craig also criticised the stance taken by Ken Livingstone over the mega-mosque. "This debate will also serve to publicly discredit the Mayor's offensive and unfounded slur that opposition to the mosque is by nature Islamophobic and BNP-inspired," said Alan Craig.
"It isn't. Many Muslims oppose the Tablighi Jamaat mega-mosque, and non-Islamic local opposition is rational, reasoned and based on respect for our Muslim fellow citizens. We stand against BNP hate-mongering." Of course the Mayor's unreasoned biased backing for the mega-mosque simply strengthens the cause of all opponents.
"Fortunately he has no planning powers over the Olympic zone, so he cannot directly impact the final planning decision about the mosque."

There is just one demonstration in Brussels on 11th September
There have been some rumours that different political parties and organisations have planned to hold several demonstrations in Brussels.
THIS COULD NOT BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH!
On the contrary, the political parties that have expressed an interest in the Stop Islamisation Of Europe have agreed with the Aims and rules of the demonstration.
This is because they have ALL recognised that the greatest threat to our way of life in Europe is Islamisation.
They have ALL agreed to put other differences aside for this one historic event on this most historic of days.
So, members of all parties and organisations will be in Brussels as groups of ordinary citizens carrying only SIOE banners and/or plain white banners and/or banners enscribed with the rallying cries:-
No Sharia Here!
Democracy not Theocracy!
Enough is Enough!
They have ALL agreed to not carry any identifying banners or symbols because we are brothers and sisters for this one day.

'The Trial' in Brussels

Belgian justice brings to mind a certain novel by Kafka. Last month the mayor of Brussels banned a demonstration planned for September 11 under the slogan of "Stop the Islamization of Europe." An administrative court upheld that decision last week. So much for free speech and freedom of assembly in Europe's capital.
The organizers from Germany, Britain and Denmark had expected about 20,000 people from all over the Continent to protest what they called the "creeping" introduction of Shariah law into their societies. The rally was supposed to end with a minute of silence for the victims of the terror attacks on the US six years ago.
True, the organisers' goal of "preventing Islam becoming a dominant political force in Europe" and their claims that Islam is incompatible with democracy are provocative. But the question is not whether one agrees with the message but whether the message is within the bounds of protected speech, which it clearly is. If law-abiding citizens are not allowed to express their opinions on any given day, it causes irreparable damage to the plaintiffs' rights and Belgium's democracy.

SIOE Brussels demo in Nation.Be
Nation.Be has urged its supporters to join the demo
Nation.Be is a French speaking journal. Original French article
Dutch and French speaking folk in Belgium have joined together for the purpose of stopping Islamisation of Europe.
This is historic!
Babal Fish translation
You know without any doubt that a demonstration etaitprevue in Brussels against the Islamization of Europe on next 11 September. It goes without saying the Movement NATION supports thematic this demonstration.
In spite of the inadmissible prohibition of this gathering by the town of Brussels, the organizers of this one (association SIOE: Stop Islamisation Of Europe) maintained their watchword and seem decided well to express in all cases. NATION calls obviously its members and sympathizers to be taken part in it in the compliance with the rules laid down by the organizers (not of flags or logo of the movement in order to increase the unit step).
Many of our sympathizers require details of us. We cannot unfortunately answer it today. A new legal procedure having to be examined on September 5, it is impossible by then giving concrete details on the organization. We thus encourage you to come to visit our site as from September 6, at this same heading. You will find there more details.
Whatever the formula which will be retained, we call right now with a maximum mobilization even if it is one day in week. Symbolic system as far as the attitude more and more liberticide of the authorities make that this day will be particularly important.
No excuses: take leave, find solutions but mobilize you and mobilize around you.
If you accept that one prevents Europeans from expressing on September 11 without reacting concretely, if you do not mobilize yourselves on next 11 September; cease making pretence believe that you will still react in the future. If there is no start this 11 September, it is that there will not be more! The infos follow very soon....

Eleven september, to Brussels prohibited manifestation anti-Muslim

The eleven september is a painful fresh memory, that it succeeds however to divide for like vien interpreted. In Belgium, to Brussels, "understood them" de facto of communitarian Europe, it is controversy for the prohibition tax from the Common one, and confirmed from the Council of State, to one manifestation against "the islamizzazione of Europe". To proporla it is the international group "Stop the Islamisation of Europe" (Sioe), than in July the initiative just for the anniversary of the attacks to the Twin Towers and the Pentagon had launch.
The manifestation must have had place in front of the local center of the European Parliament, in order to ask, between the other, the block of muslim immigration (incompatible with the state of right, moreover) and to protest in a generalized manner against the "scivolamento" in the buonismo in the comparisons of one often intenzionata truth is not made to integrate.
The first altolà, in the consisting fear of crashs with community Muslim, has arrived 9 August from the mayor of Brussels Freddy Thielemans, Socialist, immediately stamped like the "Great Muftì of Belgium" from the Sioe. For irony overflow, the 11 september will be 63esimo the birthday of Thielemans, mangiapreti old style already under shooting for previous gaffes not exactly of good taste. The Council of State has then confirmed the decision taken from the first citizen, rejecting the resource introduced from the organizers.
The forehead "Stop the Islamisation of congerie Europe" sees re-united one of groups antiMuslims between which the Danish party Siad, the Dutch Sharia Here (Holland have not become much sensitive one after some serious facts of report like the homicide of the director Theo van Gogh from part of fanati and the vicissitude of Ayaan Hirsi Alì, the former forced parliamentarian to us to try shelter and political side in the USA) and the Germans of Pax Europe. The support received from members of the skillful extreme fiamminga, historically strongly, of sure has not giovato to the cause of the manifestation.
The Alloy North has protests to you through its capodelegazione, europarlamentare Mario Borghezio, for which "the fundamental rights of the European Union come viola you". And the rifuto to authorize the manifestation, in a Country like the crawling Belgium in preda to the most serious political crisis of its history marked from hatred between fiamminghi and Walloons, it comes read from more parts not like one will to repudiate xenofobia of whichever sign and tendency, but like a sign of extreme weakness. The extremists of the two parts are use.

Turkey's PM Erdogan: The term "moderate Islam" is ugly and offensive -- Islam is Islam
SIOE agrees with Turkey's PM Erdogan. However, for openly saying we have a problem with the concept of "moderate Muslims" we are described as "right wing".
However, those bellowing loudest in condemning us in this old-fashioned, meaningless manner, are also the most vociferous in supporting Turkey's entry into the EU.
So the woolly-headed conclusion is, "right wing" stopping of Islamisation is bad, but "right wing" promotion of Islamisation is good.
Islamists embrace both "left wing" and "right wing" provided they support Islam because, as Prime Minister Erdogan says, "Islam is Islam".
From Jihadwatch
Turkey's PM Erdogan: The term "moderate Islam" is ugly and offensive -- Islam is Islam
And so in two sentences Erdogan dismisses the concept on which the Western world has placed its hopes of survival and peace.
Islam is Islam. Will this be discussed in the Western media? Will American and European analysts publicly take up the question of whether or not Erdogan is right, and what the implications might be if he is? Or will they ignore this and continue to assume in all their analyses that the opposite is true, and to dismiss as "ideologues" or "Islamophobes" those who point out that influential Muslims like Erdogan are saying things like this?
Which course do you think they'll choose?
Will Western leaders then begin discussing political Islam and its implications openly? Or will they ignore this and continue to pretend that Islam has no inherent or traditional political character, or if it does, it is infinitely malleable anyway, and can be massaged without difficulty into something completely benign?
Which course do you think they'll choose?
"PM Erdogan: The Term 'Moderate Islam' Is Ugly And Offensive; There Is No Moderate Islam; Islam Is Islam," from the MEMRI Blog (thanks to Mackie):
Speaking at Kanal D TV’s Arena program, PM Erdogan commented on the term “moderate Islam”, often used in the West to describe AKP and said, ‘These descriptions are very ugly, it is offensive and an insult to our religion. There is no moderate or immoderate Islam. Islam is Islam and that’s it.”

Brussels latest news

SIOE is taking all legal steps to have reinstated its peaceful and openly declared non-racist Stop Islamisation Of Europe demonstration scheduled for 11th September in Brussels.
So on Wednesday 5th September SIOE formally appeals to Belgium’s Supreme Court (Court of Cassation) to have Mayor Thielemans’s ban overturned.
Later the same day SIOE will publish on its sites the assembly point, start time, planned route for the march and final place where speakers will address the rally.
Also, the names of speakers already accepted may be published. Volunteers, particularly representing organisations are welcome to speak, subject to approval, so please email SIOE if you wish to do so.
Travellers are best advised to arrive in Brussels incognito with no distinguishing dress or objects.
At the allotted time in the allotted place people will identify each other by raising an object, which will be described on 5th September on the SIOE site.
It is considered that the civil rights song “We shall overcome” might be sung.
The rallying cries, previously agreed with the Brussels police, namely
Enough is enough!
No Sharia here
Democracy not theocracy
may be used, depending on the circumstances, which will be made clear on 5th September.
So Watch-time is 5th September!
Make your travel arrangements now! History is in the making, so be part of it!
